SCOBIE MCINTOSH ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES

We believe that businesses are responsible for achieving good environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner. We are therefore committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods, and encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same.

Not only is this sound commercial sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations. We wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice.

For example, all refrigerated machines supplied from 1st Jan 2022 have been supplied with R290 (Hydrocarbon gas) in line
with legislation changes.

Servicing

Scobie’s preventative maintenance promotes a longer equipment lifespan, reduces breakdowns, increases efficiency and can contribute to less energy usage. Our consistently high first-time fix results minimises engineer call outs, mileage and fuel.

Machine Refresh

Scobie can provide refreshed and refurbished equipment to enable customers contribute to their overall sustainability goals
by recycling and saving resources. The significant cost savings vs buying new also allows customers to buy a better model. Sensible recycling limits the amount that goes to landfill.

Greener Buildings

We have made considerable investment in making our properties greener. All offices & other buildings have been fitted with LED lighting, replacing older and less-efficient lighting. Heating systems have been upgraded: the gas boilers have been
turned off and switched to electric.
